Introducing Lúcio:
Making his official debut on the gamescom show floor, meet Lúcio—an international celebrity who uses his music to change the world.
Growing up in one of Rio de Janeiro's favelas, Lúcio initially turned to music as a way to lift people's spirits and help them rebuild as a community in the wake of the Omnic Crisis. Now an international celebrity, Lúcio seeks to inspire positive social change through his music and fights to make the world a better place.
On the battlefield, Lúcio's cutting-edge Sonic Amplifier buffets enemies with projectiles and knocks foes back with blasts of sound. He also plays two different songs—one to heal his team and the other to boost their movement speed—and uses his signature Crossfade technique to switch between them at will. And when the going gets especially rough, Lúcio will drop the beat, activating a temporary Sound Barrier to shield all nearby allies.

Explore Numbani and Volskaya Industries:
Attendees of gamescom also had the opportunity to battle across two brand new maps: Numbani and Volskaya Industries.
Numbani is a Point Capture/Payload hybrid map set in a utopian city on the edge of the African savanna in which humans and omnics live together in harmony. Here, the attacking team must escort Doomfist's gauntlet as it travels from Adawe International Terminal to the Numbani Heritage Museum, while the defending team does everything in its power to stop this infamous weapon from reaching its final destination.
Volskaya Industries is a Point Capture map located near St. Petersburg, Russia—a manufacturing center responsible for producing massive, human-piloted mechs which help protect the local population. Following a rise in omnic hostilities, attacking and defending teams must now battle for control of this facility and its powerful Svyatogor mobile suits.
